Greensboro woman charged with insurance fraud in renters insurance claim
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of LaFarrah Naden Davidson, 30, of 1729 Foust Road, Greensboro. Davidson was charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property under false pretences, two felonies.
Special agents from the Insurance Department’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Davidson of obtaining $21,382.49 from State Farm Insurance by providing the insurance company with false and misleading documents in a renters insurance claim.
The offenses took place between November 30, 2018 and May 03, 2021.
Commissioner Causey encourages North Carolina residents to help keep insurance premiums low by reporting suspected fraud.
“Insurance fraud is not a victimless crime,” said Commissioner Causey. “It hits us all in the pocket through higher premiums.”
