MacNeil Motors customers may be eligible for compensation – Saskatoon

Consumers who have suffered a financial loss while dealing with a Saskatoon auto dealership may be eligible to file a claim.

The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) said a bond issued to MacNeil Motors had been demanded and paid.

A bond is a license requirement for dealers in Saskatchewan.

This is a sum of money that the surety company agrees to pay if a licensee does not follow specific rules set out in the province’s Consumer Protection and Business Practices Act.

According to the FCAA website, MacNeil violated various sections of the Consumer Protection and Business Practices Act and the Consumer Protection and Business Practices Regulations by dealing with at least nine consumers.

Consumers who have suffered financial loss as a result of transactions with MacNeil Motors may be eligible to file a compensation claim.

The FCAA said that to determine eligibility, consumers should gather all supporting documentation and contact consumer protection divisions by emailing [email protected] or by phone at 306-787-5550.

Claims must be submitted by October 20.
